Ok, so i think i may be getting a VERY little keloid scar on my tragus piercing, both on the inside of my ear and the outside. Both of them like i said a very small, and i applied tea tree oil for the first time tonight. Im going to apply it twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night. Ive read that this will make them go away...is it true? can tea tree oil have any negative effects on it?

  1. definitely a good idea to go with the tea tree oil, if the keliods grow don't freak out, the oil will do it's job, it doesn't have any negative effects, it just dires the keloid out and it will fall off without you even noticing.

it's good that your using tea tree oil, but if you want something better i got this stuff from my piercer called 'naked, natural alternative'' it worked so well on the keloid i had on my tragus and you can also use it on other cartilage piercings, and it makes them heal quicker. It has a bunch of different oils in it like tea tree oil, lavender oil, castor oil.

you might be able to get it at the place you got you're tragus pierced, but i'm not sure, you can get it online though

it's the stuff with the orange label in the pic

  2. I had the same exact problem...one on the inside and outside.  I used the teatree oil too and it made it go down a little but not completely away...i didnt want it to get worse so i just took the peircing out and the keloids went completely down.

  3. Hey I have my tragus piercing in still after a 1 year and 4 month long battle with it. i got it pierced coming up two years this christmas. It was a long painful road but it was worth it. I didn't use tea tree oil. I just taped a cotton ball over my ear everynight that was soaked in warm SEA SALT water (not table salt)...I fought with infections, the keloid ( which was visible in pictures that my ear was included in...a lot of people got grossed out by it. DO NOT TAKE IT OUT...if it turns out to be infected, or gets infected and you take it out you will trap the pus, and bacteria in your ear. with the jewelry in it, it gives it time to heal. Also, what type of jewlery do you have in. A ring is the best way to go. It allows for major swelling and wont cause any negative effects to your skin. I have used rings for all but my oral piercings and they always worked out for me. Do NOT give up on your keloid. It took me over one year to get rid of mine but it went away. It might come back but i love my tragus piercing so much. IT still is sore after one year when i sleep on it wrong and my usual tattoo artist said his hurt like h**l for 3 years before he could change the jewelry. Cartilage piercings take forever to heal, and are the ones most commonly associated with keloids. ALSO try H2Ocean. Wash your hands, get a clean q-tip, and the H2Ocean. Spray it on the piercing on the outside and use the q-tip to rub it on the back ( i dont reccomend spraying it directly in your ears) and then rotate the piercing gently making sure you get the H2Ocean in the piercing. I used this on all my piercings and warm Sea Salt water and it always cleared up any infections lumps or bumps. DO NOT use peroxied, rubbing alcohol, or any type of antibacterial creams on it. I love my tragus...it was h**l for 1 year and four months but it was worth keeping it in. Also try sleeping on your other side and DO NOT PLAY WITH IT. I had a keloid behind my monroe too but that thing i just chewed off all the time..it went away when I changed my 7/16" Labret stud to a 1/4" 16g. one. Try the warm sea salt water it works absolute wonders....and again its not table salt...

  4. I have had my tragus done for awhile, but never gotten a keloid... But I would call your piercing palor and talk to whoever did it. I have heard that tea tree oil does help. But make sure you're washing it with saline solution numerous times a day too. Good luck!
