I know that the KGB modern day FSB controls some Russian companies like for instance Russian oil companies.

Well the question I have is do they control other companies like mining, coal, aluminium, gold, pulp and paper comanies and other natural resource companies of Russia?

  1. The socialist model has every government department involved in business. The idea was that the government department would run businesses that produce services / products that supported itself (eg: the Defence Forces would run clothes factories, weapons factories etc etc...). This supposedly saved money and allowed the government department to be semi-self sufficient.

In reality the government departments got involved in anything that turned a profit. As such, i would be very surprised if the KGB didn;t get involved in many business lines.

Most State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) were privatized after the fall of socialism in the USSR. What you will find though is that the government departments still own a majority share in the Companies.

Hence, the former KGB probably still has stakes in many Companies in Russia.

  2. No surprise! The Bolsheviks turned Russia to a false corrupt society.

  3. Yes they do, but they do it in the names of shell companies so that it isn't common knowledge.
