Question:

KICKER in the last round?

I feel bad for idiots who draft kickers early; one guy took Nick Folk with the 85th pick, WTF? It'll mess up your entire team. Everyone knows kickers should be drafted in the VERY LAST ROUND. (Unless you're in some kind of bizarre 'Kickers and Punters only' league).

It doesn't matter who the kicker is; it really doesn't. No difference between Nick Folk as oppossed to Crosby, Gould, Bironas, Reed, Graham, Kaeding, Dawson, or some other guy I missed. As long as you don't get someone who will miss a large amount of FGs (such as Tynes or Suisham), you'll be just fine.

Kickers are the most unpredictable position; it's hard to tell who will do better week-to-week let alone the entire year. Plus all the kickers are bunched up really close together as far as points go. There are about 12-15 kickers that are reliable kickers.

Also, draft only one kicker with your last round pick and have only one kicker on your roster at any given time; no reason to have 2 or more.

  1. I like to take them in the second to last round so I can get one of the more consistant guys and then pick a Rookie WR or RB that I think might surprise in the last round. Or I do it the other way around. Just depends on where I'm picking I guess.

  2. i know you had your 5 cents about this earlier and i agree i know a  guy who completely f'd up his team by takeing folk in the second round.

  3. So what was the question??

  4. Uhhh....... Not much more room to answer your question.  I agree.

  5. I Kinda disagree.

Yeah, take them late, but isn't kickers more important then the last 3 guys on your bench?Atleast the kickers will be contributing on a weekly basis.Unlike the guys burried on your bench.(I like Crosby, and snatched him in the 13th round.)~G{}{}d Luck!
