  1. If I had a nickel for every time my 10 year old said she hated me I'd be a millionaire. Children even as they become teenagers still haven't mastered anger management and communication. When they say "I Hate You" it is their way of telling you that they are incredibly angry but don't know how to properly express those emotions. I think the worst thing mine ever did was climb on her dresser when she was 8 and try to take down her fish tank (it was a small 8" by 6" plastic tank) Well she dumped it everywhere and instead of telling us what happened she just set the tank down in the middle of the floor and pretended it never happened. When I found it and we confronted her she claimed she had no idea what happened. She said maybe when she shut the door it fell. When we pointed out that if it had fallen, the lid would be off, the fish and rock would be everywhere and the tank would not be sitting upright on the floor, she then tried to claim someone broke into the house and did it. (I had to walk away so she didn't see me laughing). We gave her one last opportunity to tell the truth, told her that her punishment would be much worse for lying than it would be for spilling the water but she stuck to her guns. She was grounded for one week, in her room, no tv, no computer, no video games, no anything. All she was allowed to do was read, and she could only come out to use the bathroom, go to school and eat. She sat in her room and screamed at the top of her lungs for an hour. Only when her father went and and threatened a spanking (we have never spanked her) did she stop. She refused to speak to me for that whole week. But she did learn her lesson about lying because now when she tried to fib I remind her that the punishment for lying is always much more severe than the punishment for what she actually did and she always comes clean.

  2. My 9 yr old was playing with candles and started a fire.

Luckly we were able to get it out and didn't do much damage.

After that she found herself draped over my knee

    getting her bottom tanned.

  3. My 12 year old daughter and my 13 year old niece and nephew decided to entertain themselves one night by throw eggs at cars in my brother's neighborhood. First of all, all 3 kids know better than this so both my wife and I and my brother and his wife were livid.

My daughter got what is  probably the biggest whoopin of her life, grounded for 2 weeks, found herself washing all the cars that were involved and any damage they sustained, she had to pay for out of her allowance. My niece and nephew pretty much got the same punishment as well.

  4. Haha Yes.

My daughter wanted to ride on a go-kart.

I told her no but she did it anyway.

It started to rain and she crashed and took down the neighbors fence.

A good ol' belt whippen did the trick.

  5. Ha. Last week my son was talking in church so I whispered for him to be quiet so he spat on me. He's 4 by the way. I took all of his toys off him for 2 days. This would work with teenagers by removing their TV etc. Kids eh.

  6. yep yep and yep!

  7. my kids hated me consistently.  one hated me until she was 24 years old.   they eventually come around as long as what you did was really to help them grow up to be responsible adults.  my daughter at age 12 called cps and i was  investigated for a month with a live in worker just because she wanted to go live with her junkie father who had no  rules.  no time for kids especially disciplining children

  8. You should do whatever you think is right for your child. If my son stays up all night watching TV then he is grounded from the TV for 1 day.(no video games either.) If the next day he stays up all night then we use the belt. (He never stays up late again.) If you start small and then go BIG then your child learns to listen to you or fear you and do whatever you say.

  9. My child for a long time and it is still going on (shes 13) poops and pees her pants on purpose, we took her to a urinologist but she would not stop and she still will not, so i make her wear diapers full time and she has no toilet privelages and she has to be changed by me when her friends come over and she has a stay dry chart on the wall.
