KKR need to click as a team in CL T20, says Gautam Gambhir – Cricket News Update

After suffering an embarrassing five-wicket loss to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843 in their opening game of the main round, the Knight Riders were outclassed by the South Australian team on Wednesday, September 27, 2011.
Having tasted two consecutive defeats, Gambhir was seriously upset and admitted that his crew has not yet clicked as a unit.
However, the skipper did not lose hope and expected his side to come up with an improved performance in the remaining two games of the first round in the championship.
"When you have to win against a good opposition, you need to click as a team. The batting and bowling have to complement each other. We have not done that in the competition. We have two more games, hopefully we can try hard in the coming two games," said
Gambhir who gathered just nine runs in the last game.
Furthermore, the classy Indian batsman did not blame anybody for the team’s ordinary performance against the Australian side. He not only accepted the fact that his side failed collectively but also gave full credit to the Kangaroos for outplaying KKR in
every department of the game.
The Riders are currently in a do-or-die situation, as they will have to win the next two encounters by handsome margins in a bid to qualify for the semi-finals.
Gambhir, who missed the qualifying round following fitness issues, wants his troop to produce something special in the remainder of the tournament regardless of the possibility that the Kolkata men might be able to make it to next level of the T20 battle.
The Delhi-born batsman insisted, “When you are playing professional sport, each game is important, so we want to try and win games. Whether we qualify for semi-finals or not, it is irrelevant. It is about winning games, so we would go out there, try and
give out 100 per cent and try and win games.”
