KLHC moves one step closer to the title as they defeat Nur Insafi by 5-2 in the Premier Division of MHL
Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) continued their winning streak and further moved one step closer to the title after they defeated Nur Insafi by 5-2 in their seventh match in the Premier Division of the Malaysian Hockey League played at the National Hockey
Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Friday, October 7. With the victory, KLHC is now on top of the points table with 21 points followed by Sapura with 18 points.
The match was extremely entertaining with the KLHC athletes dominating their Penang counterparts, right from the start of the match till the very end. They scored three goals in the first half and two in the second half whereas the Nur Insafi Penang team
remained scoreless in the beginning but managed to score two goals during the latter half.
KLHC started the first half with great action when Ismail Abu scored the first goal of the match in the 10th minute and gave his team an early lead.
KLHC took another twelve minutes to double their lead but this time it was Mohamed Amerullah Abd Aziz who hit a beautiful strike in the 22nd minute. Just a minute after doubling the lead Mohamed Amerullah Abd Aziz once again ticked the score board
to further enhance their lead margin.
Meanwhile, the Nur Insafi athletes struggled to score but failed to make any progress as the first half ended at 3-0 in favour of KLHC.
However, early in the second half the Nur Insafi made a strong comeback with a double blow to the KLHC. Nur Hrsikesa scored the first goal for Nur Insafi in the 38th minute while Damandeep Singh further reduced the KLHC lead just a minute after
the opener.
KLHC, on the other hand, did not lose their nerves and consistently stayed upbeat. Mohd Razie Abdul Rahim scored their fourth goal in the 40th minute followed by another stunning strike by Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin in the 42nd minute which
concluded the exhilarating match.
