I am doing the lemonade (yellow blonde) color for highlights. Is this a good idea. I have dirty blonde almost medium brown hair. Is this a good idea? And if I dont like it, will it come out?

  1. my girl did the red koolaid..

    didnt last very long..

i suggest not to use it!!

  2. Don't. get it proffessionally done, or use a box. It'll look bright, highliter yellow and you'll smell like sugar and lemon syrup for weeks.

  3. only do it to ur tips so then if u dont like it, it will be easy to get rid of

  4. remember... kool-aid does not lighten, it only adds color. so it can't highlight hair because it doesn't have a bleaching agent. if you want to use kool-aid as a dye, it will not last long and will look just as if you colored on your hair with a marker.

  5. A friend of mine did this for St.Patricks day. Green of course it was green for a year!!!

  6. i think only the dark colors work.

  7. It's a bad idea..first off it will ruin your hair,second...it doesn't wash out that easy. It takes awhile for it to wear out. If you're not satisfied with the results after using it,then it's a bad move to try and correct it with box highlights or an all over color

My sis is a cosmetologist and she had a gal come in after using green kool-aid on her hair to get the color removed, then have it professionally colored to cover up the damage she had done. The hair shaft absorbs the kool-aid and it's hard to get out and it would react with the ingredients that's in the professional kind. It's your hair and you have the right to ruin it however you like but I sure wouldn't use kool-aid to highlight it. My sis has been a cosmetologist for yrs and she wouldn't even attempt to try and correct the damage the woman had done, for fear of a law suit. Good luck.
