KP's exit and Warner's entry were very well planned – TA Sekar – Cricket News Update

stage during the ongoing season five of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).
Speaking to the media reporters on Monday, Sekar said that after finishing at the bottom last year, they were eager to turn the fortunes this season and fortifying the top batting order was an integral part of their strategy.
The Daredevils' mentor revealed that he had gone to Australia to meet the skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Anthony-Hibbert-c81005 asked him to snap up KP for the start of the
season, as Warner was scheduled to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 with Kangaroos during that period.
“I knew Warner was going to play for Australia and that was why we bought KP…basically KP's exit and Warner's entry was actually very well planned,” said Sekar during an interview with an Indian sports website.
About Sri Lankan skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397, the 56-year-old former Indian pacer said that he is an experienced cricketer who could be a good support on the field besides anchoring the batting.
“He is one of the best cricketing brains going around in the world now,” said Sekar. “We decided that Sehwag would be the captain, Mahela would be the vice captain and the two would take all the necessary decisions on the field,” he added further.
The Daredevils had also changed their coach ahead of the 2012 season, elevating assistant coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eric-Owen-Simons-c56137 to the head coach position. Sekar said that it was also meant to change the fortunes of the side.
“(We) felt that we needed a new coach, a new set of thoughts and ideas. Unless team is doing really well, my opinion is that coach shouldn't be same for more than three to four years,” said the Delhi daredevils mentor.
The transformations in the team and support staff have duly paid dividends so far in the tournament as the Daredevils have been the most consistent performers of the season and currently find themselves at the top of the standings with nine wins in 13 games.
