“The debacle we had during the summer was embarrassing. To lose a guy of KP’s calibre and to see all the statements coming out in the media proved it was a complete mess,” said the former England cricketer.
The 33-year-old Glamorgan player hopes that the dressing room atmosphere is back to normal and the players are focused on the crucial battle, which begins on November 15, at Ahmedabad.
Jones expressed that team spirit is going to play a major role in the Indian conditions, which are going to test the side’s strength. He further added that Pietersen needs to be at the best of his game if the Poms have any chance of dismantling the Men in
Blue.
“They seem to have sorted it now and hopefully they can look to the future rather than dwell on the past, because KP is a massive part of the England team going forward,” he added. “I hope everything is ironed out because you need harmony if you are going
to do well in India.”
