  1. The 250 sx and all sx KTM models are made "out of the box" to race on closed tracks.  The exc models like the above post mentioned are more intended for desert, trail, enduro etc use.  If this is your first bike, which it most likely is if you have to ask the difference between the two, KTM's are among the most expensive motorcycles to purchase and maintain.  Compare the prices at KTM's website to other manufacturers like Honda and Kawasaki and see the difference.  KTMs are the "cadillacs" of dirt bikes.  And if you can, invest the extra time to buy used and save yourself some serious money.

  2. I'm no expert, but I believe the exc has more bottom end grunt (being made for enduros and hare scrambles) You mean xc, the exc is a 4 stroke........http://www.allamericanktm.com/pages/newv...

  3. wrong forum

  4. the ex is equipped with a lighting coil, so you can run lights on it. The other difference is that the SX model has a close transmission ratio, and the exc has a wide ratio enging. The sx is quicker on the bottom, which means it will accelerate harder, but the ex has more on top, meaning it has higher top speed.

the sx is made for racing motocross, and for those who ride tracks alot, the ex is made for those riders riding in the desert, woods, tracks, or just about anywhere.....
