Kaba Locks?

Note : These are the push button combination locks.

But I am specificly refering to the Kaba ones, these are the large heavy duty one's with the large lever or k**b, and about five code buttons.

Why does the internal Lever take a Key ?

This is Not a full size key, it's a little one that goes in just above the internal lever, and is definately not good enough for security.

What do these do ?

  1. maybe it is to reset the combination?

  2. When working with a device that has this many "moving" parts,i.e, pushbuttons, something will inevitably malfuntion or just plain fail.

The key is probably a "master"! Or it could be used to simply open the device.

  3. It may be to open the lock to put the battery in. I am sure KABA will enlighten you if you contact them. Their head office is in Tiverton, Devon. Google them.
