Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul has welcomed the club’s link with Lyon’s Hugo Lloris and thinks that a move to White Hart Lane will suit the 25-year old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international goalkeeper.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has been on the lookout for a goalkeeper to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953, who at the age of 41 is nearing retirement.
The veteran goalkeeper has spent more than a decade in the Premier League and had himself revealed last month that next season may well be his last one in the English top flight.
Speaking to the press, Friedel had said:
"How much more do I got? Let's get through this [season] first. I have a year left on my contract and at my age, it really does go year to year. We'll see how things progress and at that point, I'll make a decision on my future.”
“If I couldn't do it anymore at the highest level, then I wouldn't want to play. I wouldn't sign a contract. It's getting harder and harder to consider [MLS] because of my age. I've been really fortunate to have these opportunities in the Premier League
with big clubs.”
Villas-Boas had identified a host of options to replace the American, with French international shot stopper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 top of his list. The Portuguese had tried signing the Lloris, but there had been quite some problems in the transfer, especially with
the club’s valuation of the player and their reluctance to let him leave.
Recently, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Younes-Kaboul-c37543 revealed that he talked to his compatriot Lloris, and stated that a move to Tottenham would be really good for him.
"I talked about Tottenham with Lloris on the telephone,” Kaboul said. “It will be great for him to play with us."
The player also talked about the changes at Tottenham and how he feels about them. Kaboul dismissed all reports and rumours that linked him with a move away from White Hart Lane and insisted that he is quite happy and settled in North London. The French
centre-back is looking forward to the new season and hopes that the club can reach greater heights under Villas-Boas.
