The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper has hailed Rene Adler’s performances this season and is delighted that the Hamburg man has returned to his top form
Rene Adler joined Hamburg SV from Bayer Leverkusen last summer on a free transfer and has been in sensational form since then. The player has made a return to the national squad courtesy his impressive displays in the Bundesliga.

must have been very difficult for Adler to return to the top after he was put for months with a knee injury.

is made on merit.
Kahn stressed that many players lose confidence after being out for this much time, but Adler has been mighty impressive and regarded his displays as the main reason Hamburg are not in the relegation zone.
“I admire Rene. The fact he has returned stronger is sensational. You have to be mentally strong to work your way back to the top. I have seen many footballers who have lost confidence in this situation and have not come back,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Adler was delighted with the comments received from Kahn and remained confident to carry on with his performances in the second half of the campaign. The player admitted that he is pleased that a player of the
stature of Oliver Kahn has appreciated his displays and wants to continue improving.
“It was a nice compliment. Just because it comes from Oliver Kahn, whose commitment and willpower were always commendable indeed,” he concluded.
