Kai Walter and Sophia Gallette?

Question

My cousin is having a baby (yay)! I already asked about the girl's name, Sophia Gallette (guh-LET) (Gallette is a combination of the baby's Grandmothers, Gail and Violet). They had trouble finding a boy's name they both liked, but are considering Kai Walter (Kai is pronounced Ky and is Hawaiian, Walter is the father's name). What do you think of these two names?

I love the girl's name. The boy's name is cute...but I've only heard Kai used as a girl's name. I think Kai is a really beautiful name though.

I don't like Gallette because it sounds like gullet like a bird. I think if they want to combine those two names they should just but both in. I like the boys name. Good luck.

I really like Kai Walter. Not crazy about Gallette, since its pronounced gullet. A Gullet is part of  the throat where the food goes from the throat to the stomach. Why not just name her Sophia Violet Gail.
