  1. According to the US Department of State, "Records of birth, marriage and death are generally kept at the German vital records office (Standesamt) where the event occurred. Most cities have websites at www.(nameofcity).de where you can find the contact information for the appropriate Standesamt and request a copy of your birth or marriage certificate. This usually has to be done in writing and as much information as possible should be provided, including proof of your identity."

  2. i speak German but cannot write it correctly anylonger , so , i have a suggestion if you do not mind ? but do you speak German ? for if you have noticed on the bottom of this page ? there is a German yahoo....

otherwise ,if not ?why not check the travel section here on this yahoo questions and answers  and go under Germany ?

if not ,you could write a letter to the city of Kaiserslautern , (have someone translate it German) and directly send it to Germany ?

right now i cannot think of anything else ,but i know some German people come here from time to time ........

i will think and come back ......
