The club have sacked manager Marco Kurz after a series of poor results in the Bundesliga.
The Red Devils sit at the bottom of the table after 26 games in the league and have won only three times all season. They have suffered a staggering 12 defeats this term after an impressive seventh place finish in the previous
season.
Club chairman Stefan k***z revealed the decision in a statement issued to Kaiserslautern’s official website. He stated that the side and the manager have mutually agreed over the decision that Kurz will leave the club.
The chief admitted that the decision was made in the wake of the disappointing 4-1 defeat to Schalke at home. The home side took the lead early in the match but failed to capitalise on the advantage as Die Knappen scored four times
in the remaining course of the game.
k***z added that the manager has been trying his level best but the results are not showing and the side is now in grave danger of being relegated to the second division.
“After the 4-1 defeat and lots of intensive discussions, we reached the mutual agreement that we had to take this step. We have introduced many different measures in recent weeks and months devised to bring the team back on the
road to success, but unfortunately these have not worked,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The chairman stressed that Kurz has been fantastic at the club as he guided the team to the Bundesliga and helped them to finish on an impressive seventh place last season. He admitted that the manager deserves all the respect
as he has given his all in an effort to achieve success for the club.
“We enjoyed great success with him with promotion in 2010 and the seventh-place finish last season. Marco Kurz deserves the highest respect and recognition for his work,” he concluded.
FC Kaiserslautern look certain to be one of the sides which will go down in the second division. With eight games to go in the current season, they are at the bottom of the table and three points behind 17th placed Hertha
