“We put in an excellent performance, especially in the first half and we should have made more of the chances we had. At the end we had a bit of luck, but we deserved to draw,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Meanwhile, Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp also praised the visiting team and admitted that his team wasted a lot of chances to capitalise on the lead and that a draw was a fair result. He praised Sahan for scoring a sensational goal
and stated that it turned out to be the difference.
“Kaiserslautern deserved this, they were always threatening. We went 1-0 up and had a lot of chances to score again, but had a bit of bad luck in front of goal. If [Olcay] Sahan hadn't scored the goal of the month, then it would
have been a good afternoon for us,” Klopp concluded.
