Kaja Sandberg signs the letter of intent to play for San Diego – Volleyball news
According to the recent news released by San Diego State Volleyball, the Desert Ridge High School middle blocker Kaja Sandberg will be added to the roster of Aztec Gear for the next season (2012-13).
After contributing to the overall success of Jaguars of Desert Ridge High School, the outstanding middle-blocker will now prove her endeavours at the San Diego Volleyball Programme.
Initially, Sandberg has signed the National letter of intent to provide her services for the Aztec Gear.
Sandberg is a talented player, who is known for her strong defence. During her time with the Jaguars, she tallied a total of 201 blocks. She spent two years at the Desert Ridge HS as a varsity athlete and earned a great reputation. In 2011, she settled for
a pair of all-tournament teams and also competed at the Arizona Storm 18 Thunder.
The mentor of San Diego State Volleyball Programme, Deitre Collins-Parker expressed delight about the nice addition of Kaja in her team.
She stated, “We're excited to add Kaja to our volleyball team. She is a naturally aggressive blocker and brings additional height to our roster. Kaja will help raise the level of competitiveness in our gym and I'm thrilled to work with her and excited to
see how she develops.”
In addition to Sandberg, the SDSU programme will receive more players this fall. The trio of Tanna Aljoe, Michelle Waber, and Ellen Novotny is supposed to join San Diego force. Aljoe comes from S, Grapevine, Grapevine Texas and plays at the position of Setter
in the team.
Likewise, 6-3 Wildomar, California native Waber is an outside hitter (OH). On the other hand, Novotny belongs to Houston HS, Germantown, Tennessee and she also plays against the position of outside hitter (OH).
The San Diego State women’s volleyball team finished the last season with an overall record of 18-10, which was not bad at all. However, the team is determined to further improve its winning record in the ‘2012-13’ season. The addition of new players will
certainly provide an edge to Aztec squad and hopefully the team will do better in the current season.
