The Brazilian star has not been listed in the 23-man squad selected for the friendly match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bosnia-and-Herzegovina-c2856.
The Selecao will go head-to-head against Bosnia in St Gallen, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016, on the 28th of February.
This is going to be the first of several friendly matches that the five-time World Cup winners are scheduled to play in 2012.
The string of friendly matches will lead on to the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013; hence, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mano-c23341 Menezes’ men are bound to remain busy throughout the year.
Friendly matches are an opportunity for young players to prove their mettle at international level, and possibly be included in the national team’s squad for bigger tournaments.
Earning more caps for your national country is considered a great honour; hence, players at all levels compete to be included in the national team. Kaka’s non-inclusion in the squad for the friendly is bound to adversely affect the player.
Interestingly, Ronaldinho has been included in the 23-man squad instead of Kaka. The 31-year-old is expected to start for the Samba Boys. Although many did not consider the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858, Menezes has decided to include
the veteran attacking-midfielder in his team.
The Brazilian mentor’s decision to deny Kaka an international call may have been influenced by the midfield maestro’s current form with Real Madrid. The former AC Milan player only started 9 games with the Spanish Giants and despite making a significant
attempt at returning to form, the player has been inconsistent in his performances.
While discussing Kaka at a press conference, the Brazilian manager quoted:
"I do not have an explanation for all players who are not in the squad. This should not be the [end of the] line, with the respect I have for Kaka - it's an evaluation. Perhaps I didn't see something from him that I wanted to see."
Many have predicted that Brazil will easily overcome Bosnia in the coming fixture and the South American Giants are favourites to win the friendly fixture.
