Kaka rues season destroying injury problems – La Liga news
Real Madrid playmaker, Kaka, has admitted that the recently concluded 2010/11 season has been the most difficult of his career. The Brazilian international was forced to miss a huge chunk of the campaign after undergoing surgery on a long-standing knee problem.
Kaka featured for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 national team during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. After the tournament, he took the decision to get his knee problem treated. In August of 2010, Real Madrid confirmed that the surgery had been performed successfully. The Brazilian
was expected to be sidelined for four months. However, it took eight months for Kaka to return to action.
The playmaker returned to the field as a substitute in the 3-2 victory over Getafe on the 3rd of January. Just when it appeared that he was starting to return to his old form, he was once again struck by injury problems. Kaka was forced to the
sidelines in March after suffering from Iliotibial band syndrome.
Kaka’s stop-start campaign has been hugely frustrating for him, and he is determined to make up for lost time in the next La Liga season. Speaking on the matter, the Brazilian said, “On a personal level, it was the most difficult season of my career. For
the team it was okay, we won the Copa del Rey against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and came second in the league. But that is not enough for a club such as Madrid.”
He added, "For me personally it was very difficult. I had the injury, returned in January, but in March stopped again. I managed to play the last two months but it was hard."
There have been persistent rumours that Kaka could be on his way out of Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window. However, the Brazilian continues to deny such reports, claiming that his loyalties lie with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid.
Kaka said, “My desire is to remain at Real Madrid. I knew there would be speculation because since arriving in Madrid I have been linked with 10 teams. But Mourinho wants me to continue and I will follow."
Real Madrid finished the 2010/11 La Liga season in second place and Jose Mourinho would be hoping for a title winning 2011/12 campaign.
