Kaka to undergo surgery, Is this the end of Kaka at Madrid?
Brazil and Real Madrid’s midfield super star, Kaka has left Los Angeles and made his way to Belgium to undergo surgery on his left knee.
The playmaker fell under heavy criticism due to his lack of fitness ever since returning to the Madrid pre season, after his break from the squad following the conclusion of the World Cup. He however expressed heavy discomfort in his knee since the first training session.
After a series of tests it was confirmed that the player had suffered meniscus damage and would have to undergo surgery to go on. A meeting between the doctor and the Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho confirmed that the midfielder needed to go under the knife to prevent any further damage to the players knee.
If the problem has been accurately diagnosed then the player would face up to two months on the sidelines. However if the player has also managed to injure his ligament the time period for which he will be out would be much greater than just two months.
If the player sustained the injury during his outing with the Brazilian national team, it would mean that the Real Madrid directors would be looking to seek answers from the Brazilian FA. They would be looking to get either a financial compensation for the player or for them to pay for his treatment.
If the injury had been spotted earlier on, then Kaka could have had at least a month to recover. Since that was not the case the player will be missing a month or two at the least of his Real Madrid season.
Jose Mourinho was also very concerned about the players well being and was reported to have told Marca, "He's a very dear colleague and he is also very good, but we want a hundred percent for him to be happy and fit. If we lose him for a while, not a drama, we have other players,"he said. He also reiterated that Kaka is "one of the best players in the world."
But what does this injury mean for Kaka? The player had already previously come under heavy criticism from the media and the press. They claimed that the player nothing more than excess baggage. The player had also been linked to numerous teams including Chelsea over the course of the transfer window. He was part of numerous swap deals involving numerous clubs. The most popular of those involved the player heading to Chelsea and Ashley Cole heading to Madrid.
Jose Mourinho has insisted that Kaka will be used as long as he is at the club, on numerous occasions. The reason for him saying so was that he wasn’t sure whether or not the player would be at the club the following season. This was due to the fact that Kaka was not a front runner to Mourinho’s plans for clubs future.
Kaka has also himself expressed on numerous occasions that he would someday like to return to AC Milan. This was after he left the club that made him what he is today because he was being offered a spot to play amongst the superstars of Madrid. Kaka has regretted that decision ever since he moved to the Bernabeu and has not managed to perform at the same level that he used to.
The smartest thing for Kaka to do would be to leave the Spanish club and look to move to a team like Manchester City. City are the only team that would pay the price demanded by the club for the player and are the only team that would invest in the player even though they know, he isn’t what he once was.
