The Brazilian expressed that the Whites will need to maintain their footing at the top of the Liga BBVA standings, in order to ensure the Spanish title.
Jose Mourinho’s men were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Malaga on Sunday, and dropped two points in the race for the Spanish La Liga title.
As http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 recorded a victory a day earlier, the pressure was on Los Merengues as they faced a determined Malaga at the Santiago Bernabeu.
La Blaugrana defeated Sevilla 2-0 at the Estadio Sanchez http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramon-c30533 Pizjuan on Saturday, securing all three points from the game.
With Madrid drawing their fixture, the gap between the top two Spanish Primera Division teams was reduced to 8 points. Prior to the weekend’s results, the gap stood at 10 points and Los Vikingos were significantly disappointed by Sunday’s result.
Kaka stressed that there is still a lot to play for in the title chase and Real must concentrate on winning all of their remaining fixtures in order to record their 32nd La Liga triumph by the end of this season’s campaign.
While talking to reporters, the 29-year-old was quoted as saying:
"We have an advantage [over Barca] which means a lot and does not mean that much at the same time. We know that Barca are very strong and that they have great players, so we will have to be very alert until we have mathematically won the title."
The last time the Spanish capital-based club were able to secure the Spanish crown was in 2008. They have been attempting to claim the title again without success in the past three years.
