The out of favour Blues man will be more than happy if he could notch a deal with Marseille this summer.
The prospects of the 21-year-old to make his return to Ligue 1 increases manifold as the player says, “In hindsight, I think that the league will do me good. This will be a good way. My goal is to make a full season to 25 games”, a goal he certainly cannot
achieve at Chelsea, at least in the near future.
The disgruntled Lille born, who earned great admiration from the Chelsea bosses over the time, believes that the ill frequent opportunities given to him to represent Chelsea and constant loaning has left the player with no option but to seek an appropriate
club that could well guarantee him a place in starting 11.
On 8th December 2009, Kakuta made his Champions League debut for Chelsea and went on to become the youngest ever Chelsea player to feature in Champions League.
Carlo Ancelotti, the then manager of the current European champions, after the match was quoted as “We had no intensity and no concentration, it was a very bad game for us. The only positive of the night was Gael Kakuta. He played very well, he showed his
fantastic talent. He trains very well every day and will be the future of Chelsea”.
Despite all the admiration he received, the visibly upset winger is not going to budge from what he has in mind as he said “My decision is final. This is an important part of my career. It is better for me to leave the club and find one where I could follow
the matches”.
But, the talented midfielder has a slight preference. According to him, if he is to leave, he will favour a move to any of the top sides in Ligue 1 including Marseille, Lille or Lyon but special preference to Marseille which according to the 21-year-old
is “a club that I like”.
In a brief period, that started from 25th of August 2011 when he joined Fulham on loan, to his subsequent loaning to Bolton in the same year followed by a loan move to Dijon in the January of 2012, has left the French player with no option but
to seek a move away from Chelsea.
