  1. That's limescale in English.  Areas with hard water are rich with lime and it builds up in kettles, round taps and so on.  It isn't dangerous.  What it can do is to make the kettle less efficient and, often, cause taps not to work correctly.

Go to a superment and ask for a de-chalker oder "ein Zeug, um Kalk zu beseitigen".  There'll be a sachet of powder or a tablet or something, and they're simple to use and inexpensive.  Put it into the kettle with water, boil it and throw the water (with the limescale) down the drain.

  2. as long as the water is boiled good, its safe enough.

  3. Safe to drink

  4. Quite safe.

it's the disolved salts from your water supply.

    Light metal carbonates mostly.

  5. I am almost positive it will do you no harm. I do know however that you can buy these little package things that you can pop in your kettle that draws all the chalk into it. Then you can take the package out and throw it away. Sorry, I have no idea what it's called....I just heard my friend's Auntie talk about it. Check your supermarket. Hope that helps.
