Kamal Chawla sets up Sourav Kothari final clash in 2012 ASCA International Snooker Tournament
With some tremendous snooker genius and outstanding potting skills in the penultimate stage of the Kences Constructions 2012 ASCA International Snooker Tournament, Kamal Chawla was able to make his way into the final encounter where he will be facing one
of the top guns of the event, Sourav Kothari. Both potters were outstanding in the whole contest earning noticeable wins during their event run.
Chawla surged into the final encounter after beating Hong Kong’s Steven Chau by the score line of 5-3 in the semi-final match. The game was dominated by Chawla in the opening session as he grabbed a strong lead in the match which he kept until the finish
of the game.
Chau bounced back in the second session of the match when he was 3-1 down but he could add only two frames to his side of the score line as Chawla took two frame wins to put an end to his run.
Meanwhile, in the second semi-final tussle, Kothari grabbed an easy win over Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham by the score line of 5-1. The Indian dominated the game from the very beginning and played like it was a piece of cake for him.
He went 0-1 down to the Thai potter when he claimed the opening frame by the score line of 57-68. After that it was an all Kothari show as he cruised into five consecutive frame wins to ensure his victory against the Thai potter and his place in the final
