Kamara: I'm ready for fresh start
Diomansy Kamara says he is ready for a fresh start at Fulham under the management of Mark Hughes.
The Senegalese striker found first-team chances few and far between during the managerial reign of Roy Hodgson. He could get an extended run in the Fulham side over the next few weeks owing to the broken
leg suffered by Bobby Zamora.
There have been strong suggestions within the media that Kamara could be on his way to another team in January. However, he says he still feels he has a lot to offer to the club and wants to make a difference
this season.
Kamara has many qualities that should mean he does well if Hughes gives him a run in the team. However, the club still has a number of other strikers that can do a job in attack.
Player qualities
Kamara is a superb finisher in attack. He only needs the slightest sight of goal or space to get a shot away. This makes him difficult to defend against because it's impossible to stop him having a single
shot in 90 minutes.
He is versatile in the striker role. He can play by himself and hold the ball up or he can play off of another striker and drop into the midfield. This gives Kamara a greater chance of playing because
he can play more than one role.
He is hungry and determined to do well at the club. He was sent out on loan last season to Celtic and no one would have blamed him if he'd sought a permanent move in the summer. However, he is showing
his determination by staying at Fulham.
He said: "I enjoy the style of football here more now under Hughes.
There is no fault with Roy Hodgson, he did really well here.
But training with Hughes is better as you do more with the ball. We are more attacking as a team."
Other strikers
The problem Kamara faces is the fact Fulham has a lot of cover in attacking positions. Zamora's injury was unfortunate for the club but Moussa Dembele was already on the
fringes of the side and has taken over.
The club also has experienced American international Clint Dempsey who can play different roles in attack. Dempsey has proven during his time with the club that he can
be consistently dangerous leading the team.
This means Kamara is going to have to work twice as hard to get Hughes' attention. He will then have to work even harder to stay in the team once he has been given a chance
because there is so much cover in Fulham's attack.
He added: "Right now some of our strikers are injured and I have more
chance to play. I'm ready to play in attack for Fulham. It was a good experience playing for Celtic but Scottish football is different. It's not as difficult as Premier League."
Betting advice
Kamara seems determined to run around like a mad man once he is given a chance to play for Fulham. This means he will go out of his way to make sure he scores goals that will keep him in the team.
Back him to score in any game he plays in over the next two or three weeks. He has the quality and experience to score against any team and he will want to make up for his bad experiences of serving Roy
Hodgson.
Keep faith with Fulham as a team. The side is playing well under Mark Hughes and has a fantastic chance of making the top six or seven by the end of the football year.
