Kamran Akmal Offers Full Co-Operation to the Integrity Committee
Kamran Akmal, the wicketkeeper batsman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket team has offered his full co-operation to the integrity committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board to get the clearance for resuming with his international career.
Akmal, who, along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314 and Shoaib Malik, had been through investigations amid the sport-fixing allegations put by Mazaher Majeed, claimed that he had provided all details about his movable and immovable assets and the activities he had been
indulged into, to the PCB officials.
While talking to the reporters, the admirably agile wicketkeeper said, “Whatever the PCB integrity committee has asked for, I have provided them. I have co-operated fully with the committee and I have presented all of the documents that they had requested.”
The wicketkeeper was of the view that the meeting he had with the integrity committee was a positive one, amid which he had hopes of resuming with his career all over again.
Providing details about the meeting, Akmal said, “The meeting was cordial, of course I can’t go into full details of exactly what was discussed, but I hope now that this matter is behind me and that I can now be given approval to recommence my international
career. I’ve always tried to give my best for my country and will continue to do so in future.”
Despite of not being charged with direct allegations by the PCB, all three players are being kept away from the national team after they had returned from the England tour. They were not included into the squad against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, and now have also missed
the tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
Not only that, both Akmal and Malik were also denied the permission to take part into the league cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, though Mohammed Yousuf was allowed to do so.
Pakistan Cricket Board was supposed to give a provisional list of thirty players for the world cup event by December 19; however, as investigations about the trio were under way, the board had to request the ICC for a later date. Now the list has to be announced
at most until January 5.
The selectors had a meeting on Friday to finalise the list; however, now they would convene on Tuesday as clarity about the availability of the players had not been assured yet.
