Pakistan’s sidelined wicketkeeper batsman, Kamran Akmal, is hopeful of getting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 League, a 50-over domestic event.
Despite the fact that the PCB has denied permission to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 series, Akmal is expecting an olive branch.
The internationally-condemned stumpsman, who have been out of the team since his pathetic performance in a group stage game of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, claims that the board should have no objection on his playing overseas as he is not a part
of the squad which is set to face the Poms at UAE in mid January 2012.
Furthermore, he also argues that his participation in the league will help him get acclimatised with the pitches where the next Asia Cup tournament is scheduled to be held.
Talking to the media today, Akmal said, “I’m hoping to get clearance from the PCB,” Akmal told Our Sources. “The board is only stopping players who are part of the team and since I’m not playing for Pakistan right now, I’m confident that I’ll get the NOC.
I’m scheduled to leave for Bangladesh next week.”
He further told, “Bangladesh will be hosting the Asia Cup and if I’m recalled for that, my stint in the league can help a lot.”
Apart from Kamran, some other cricketers, who are not set to play international cricket in near future, are also demanding NOCs from the PCB. On the other hand, the board officials claim that no player has contacted them in this regard so far.
As per expert opinion, the board is not likely to permit anyone to go for Bangladesh League as it may affect the players’ national commitments in the long run.
This is not going to be a good thing for Akmal whose skills will go stale by staying away from action for such a long time.
The 29-year-old guy has 53 Test, 137 ODI and 38 T20I games to his name. With Kamran at home, his two brothers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adnan-Akmal-c42042, are playing a bilateral series against the Bengali Tigers.
