http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122 making chances to come back in national team –Cricket News Update
Out of favour Pakistani wicket-keeper, Kamran Akmal, is in line to make a comeback into the national team for their home series against Bangladesh, later this month.
Akmal took full participation in a training session at the National Cricket Academy ( NCA) last week in Lahore after being given clearance from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board’s integrity committee.
He has been out of contention since last year’s World Cup, owing to poor form but a string of impressive performances, which includes stints in the inaugural http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Premier League and the domestic Faysal Bank Super eight Twenty 20 tournament, has paved
way for his inclusion in the national side.
In addition to his poor performances last year, the selectors remained reluctant in counting on his services after his name appeared in the spot-fixing scandal, which led to high-profiles bans to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675. However, he
has now been cleared by the integrity committee and is expected to be named among the contracted players.
"The Chairman of the Board, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 has finally cleared Kamran to be considered for national selection that is why he is now training with the Pakistani players at the NCA," a source said.
“Kamran has now also been cleared on the integrity form and given that he has regularly been playing domestic cricket and performing pretty consistently, he is now in line to be considered for the one ODI and one Twenty20 against Bangladesh later this month
in Lahore," another source confirmed.
The right-handed cricketer made his international debut in 2002 during a Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 and has represented his country in 53 Tests, along with 137 ODIs. Before getting axed, he had been the first choice glove man for the Men in Green but was
always prone to droping catches. Nonetheless, his batting prowess was always valued, which has seen him become a regular starter in the limited-overs format.
His omission has witnessed the national team trying out various wicket-keepers, including Kamran’s younger brothers, Adnan and Umar, along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarfraz-Ahmed-c88818. However, no one has been successful in cementing a permanent place in the side – and therefore
his induction into the setup again will be a positive for the Men in Green.
