Kamran Akmal vows to make a comeback to international cricket – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122, the out of favour wicketkeeper/batsman from Pakistan, is geared up to make a return to the national team and believes that he can provide some stability to the Green Shirts at the top of the batting order.
The 30-year-old was dropped from the national team after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011, as his wicketkeeping was found wanting in the mega event. Since then, he has been working hard in the domestic circuit, without being noticed by the selectors.
The cricketer from Lahore has been a great servant of the Green Shirts over the years as he has 11 international hundreds under his belt and has often taken Pakistan out of troubled waters.
In recent times, the Men in Green have faced major problems in their top-order batting but Akmal thinks that he can deliver the goods for Pakistan with the bat, if given the opportunity.
While speaking to Pakpassion, the discarded cricketer revealed that he is working hard to enhance his game even in the scorching heat of Lahore.
“I’m fit and ready and training hard at the National Cricket Academy with the NCA coaches. I feel that I can give the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team something different at the top of the order in the limited over formats,” Kamran said.
Most of the current Pakistani batsmen are one-dimensional in their game and have been criticised for their lack of ability to score at a rapid pace. In the modern-day sport, Kamran feels that every team needs to have such players who can take the attack
to the opposition.
The batsman claims that he can provide much needed aggression at the top of the order and hopes that he will be given another chance to prove his credentials at the ultimate level of the sport.
“You need to have the ability to hit the ball through and over the infield in the early overs in 50 over and 20 over cricket and to unsettle the opposition gameplan. The rest is down to the selectors and if they feel that I am wanted in the team combination
then I would love another chance to represent my country,” the wicketkeeper expressed.
