Kamran Akmal, the out of favour Pakistani wicketkeeper/batsman, has made it clear that he wants to bat in the top-order in international cricket and vows to make a comeback to the national team by doing well in domestic cricket.
After his failure to make an impression in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088
and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, Kamran was asked to bat in the lower order.
The hard-hitting batsman feels that there is a lot of cricket still left in him but he does not want to bat in the lower order in future endeavours.
Kamran said, "I am only 31 and I know what I am capable of. I am just more comfortable batting in the opening slot as I like to play the new ball. In the Champions Trophy and before that I had to bat lower down the order as per
requirement of the management."
The 31-year-old cricketer has so far represented the Green Shirts in 53 Tests, 154 One Day Internationals and 50 T20 Internationals, having scored more than six and a half thousand runs at the highest stage of the sport, with the
help of 11 centuries and 27 fifties.
The wicketkeeper/batsman is currently leading the National Bank of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 (NBP) in a domestic T20 competition in Karachi and vows to perform well to gain the attention of the selectors once again.
“I am already opening for National bank in the Ramazan T20 Cup and I am confident that if I can get plenty of runs as an opener than the selectors will think about giving me a comeback chance in the opening slot," he added.
Kamran’s younger brother, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Rizwan-c77230, who impressed one and all during the previous domestic season, is also a part of the touring squad.
Umar has so far done a reasonable job on the tour so far, having scored a brilliant half-century in the second game at Guyana.
