Kamui Kobayashi expecting better results in 2011

Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi stated that he is expecting his team to provide a better car for 2011 and score even better results. Kamui was unable to give consistent performances but vowed that he will try and avoid as many mistakes as he can and score
his best performance yet.
Kobayashi finished in 12th place in the 2010 drivers’ standings after scoring 32 points. He believes that he is an aggressive driver and stated that an aggressive driver who avoids mistakes scores the best result just like Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian
Vettel.
The Japanese driver retired in the Canadian and Singapore Grand Prix after making careless mistakes.
“My personal aim is to make zero mistakes. For the team I hope we will have a good car, and be able to fight for points on a regular basis to improve our position in the championship. If I feel I can overtake, I just do it. That's all, no secret,” he said.
Sauber had a good car this season as compared to their 2009 car but failed to perform consistently and therefore, they were unable to finish in a higher position in both constructors and drivers’ standings. The team suffered retirements in the opening six
races due to mechanical failures and the team should focus on their mechanical properties along with pace as well. The team scored their first point at Turkey that was the 7th Grand Prix of the season.
Kobayashi defended his team and stated that it is not as easy as it seems to resolve reliability issues without test sessions during the season. However, he was impressed with how his team performed in the second half of the season.
“This was a pretty bad time. It was hard, and it was very difficult to recover from this situation during the season, because nowadays there is no testing. Despite this, towards the end of the season we were much stronger. The team did a great job to recover
from this and I want to thank them for all their work,” said the Japanese driver.
He stated that if the team comes to peace with reliability issues, they will be able to score more points and compete with its rivals more affectively.
