Kamui Kobayashi feels concerned about his race seat in Sauber – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi is feeling concerned about his race seat in his team for 2013 Formula 1 season as the Swiss squad has not finalised its next year’s driver line-up yet.
Kobayashi has performed reasonably well in the season until now and is presently standing at 11th place in the drivers’ championship with 50 points. Moreover, he is ahead of Nico Hulkenberg of Force India and is behind his teammate, Sergio Perez.
Even though, he has secured an impressive third podium finish in the Japanese Grand Prix but he failed to score any points in the preceding race held at Korea International Circuit as he was retired.
Although, he really wants to continue his career with his team, however, he has recently said that he is not confident about his race seat for the coming year. Nevertheless, he expressed that he will try to perform at his best.
“Unfortunately my plan for next year is not fixed yet, but of course I will do my best,” he told his Twitter followers this week.
“I will try to get my dream,” added Kobayashi, who acknowledged that he feels he has a “high wall” to climb.”
Furthermore, he said that the ongoing difficulties have made him stronger as a driver and have provided him the opportunity to work even harder.
“But this chance gave me the opportunity to be even stronger in myself. One day if I need help from supporters of course it will be very helpful,” he added, “and please keep supporting me — it will help a lot!”
It will be important to mention that Perez is going to leave his team at the end of this year and has already signed a new multi-year deal with McLaren where he will replace Lewis Hamilton in the next season.
In addition, the team principal of Sauber, Monisha Kaltenborn has said that they are evaluating the options for their coming year’s driver line-up and will hopefully announce the names of the drivers soon.
“We will communicate in due course who our drivers will be in 2013,” team boss Monisha Kaltenborn told Spox.com.
