Kamui Kobayashi keenly waits for 2012 Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi has said that he is keenly waiting for the 2012 Indian Grand Prix which is to be held at Buddh International Circuit this weekend.
Kobayashi could not score even a single point in the Korean GP as he was retired. Moreover, his teammate, Sergio Perez could only secure 11th place finish and failed to pocket any points also.
Although, the Swiss team seemed very disappointed over the poor result in the preceding race, nevertheless, the Japanese driver has said that they are making the significant developments to come up stronger in the remainder of the season.
The 26-year-old said that he is eagerly waiting for the second race in India. Furthermore, he said that they had a new experience there during the last season.
Besides, he said that they are expecting an average performance by the team as the track will be dusty and will be quite similar to Korea International Circuit. Nonetheless, he insisted that they are trying their best to make the necessary preparations for
the forthcoming race so as to attain good result.
“I am keen to see what the circuit will be like when we arrive there for the second time,” said Kobayashi. “Last year everything was new and the surface was very dusty. The track lay out as such should probably mean our performance will be average, which
means we should be able to score points there. It is a bit similar to the Korean circuit, which might have something to do with the fact the same designer did it at about the same time.”
In addition, he said that even though he has not visited India so much but he really likes their butter chicken. He also said that he is looking forward to see more places in New Delhi this year.
“Unfortunately I haven't seen much of the country yet,” he added.
At present, he is standing at 11th place in the drivers’ championship with 50 points. Additionally, he is behind Perez and is ahead of Nico Hulkenberg of Force India.
Let’s see how he performs in the remaining four races of the ongoing season.
