Kamui Kobayashi looking to get his first podium in remainder of the season – Formula 1 news
Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez of team Sauber say that they have improved a lot during the 2012 season and that they are looking forward to give impressive performances after the summer break working together.
Kobayashi has been unable to make it to the podium until now. Talking about his performance, he said that he wants to get his first podium in Formula 1 because it is possible with the car they have.
Kobayashi told the official website of Formula 1, “On the one hand I want to get my first podium in Formula One, because this is definitely within reach with this car, while on the other we have to focus on our position in the constructors’ championship
and score points on a regular basis.”
Sauber holds 6th place in the constructors’ championship until now. The Japanese driver said that despite their desire to make it to podium in the current season, they have to get points consistently in the championship.
Sergio Perez, teammate of the Kobayashi said that they have to be more efficient to score more points. Furthermore, he said that he wants to contribute to the points of the team.
He has only been able to score 47 points in the drivers’ championship until now, in comparison to the 33 of his teammate. Perez said that he wants to add to the points of Sauber. He added that they had to face problems in the races, sometime it was related
to luck while other times it was related to the way things were done. He said that it is not true that they were not consistent.
Perez said, “We need to be more efficient and I want to contribute to that. It is not that our performance was not consistent, but we didn’t always get the things right and also we have been unlucky sometimes. We have to get everything together and make
the most out of what we have.”
Furthermore, Perez said that they have to work together as a team to achieve their targets and use their resources effectively and efficiently.
