Kamui Kobayashi wants to give positive news to his countrymen – Formula 1 update
Formula 1 Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi has updated the media that he wants to give positive news to his countrymen, in the Australian Grand Prix.
He also mentioned, in order to have sympathies with the Japanese masses, he and Sergio Perez will convey a message ‘May our prayers reach the people in Japan,’ during the season-opening race.
Japan faced a terrible earthquake last week and that is why Kobayashi immediately rushed towards his country after the final Barcelona test.
He told the media that he is very worried about this really bad situation as many people have lost their homes, lives and some are suffering without the basic necessities of life. He further added that this scene looked like he was watching some thriller
movie.
He went on to say, “We need to stay together and we need help from all over the world. I feel I have to do something, I want to help - but in fact there is nothing I can do by myself. I think at least for the time being what I can do is to be focused and
fully concentrate on the season's opening race in Melbourne. Originally I was looking forward to this with great joy.”
He said that he is aiming for a strong performance in Melbourne to send a positive news back home.
Kobayashi’s teammate Perez expressed his sadness at the plight of the Japanese population and added, “Without a doubt I am also worried about the people in Japan, and I really wish them all the best. At the same time personally a dream is about to come true.
I have dreamed for many years of competing in my first Formula 1 grand prix, and now it is going to happen.”
The Mexican admitted that he is very excited about his debut race, the Australian Grand Prix. Perez quickly adapted many new things, over the test sessions while he is new into Formula 1 sport and did ever not use Formula 1 car, as well. He further added
that the season will be hard for him because he has never been to Australia before, moreover he must take some time to understand the tough track.
As Kobayashi’s overall progress was good during the testing sessions, therefore, he is expecting strong results to give something positive to his countrymen.
