  1. It would need quick veterinary treatment, but, even with that, chances of survival are not good for anything except very small roos.

Vets (in Australia, at least) normally treat wild animals free of charge, and then hand them on to a wildlife rehabilitator.

I think the kindest thing to do would be to put it down, but it's up to you. If you want to contact a vet and see if and when they will treat it, you could do that and see how it goes. Personally, though, I have always put down roos with broken legs, rather than trying to get them fixed.

On the following website is some info. about broken legs in roos and similar animals. The vet on that website says he will no longer treat wild adult roos with broken legs because of very unrewarding outcomes.

Here are two websites where you may be able to find a wildlife rehabilitator:

http://www.wires.org.au/index.php , if you are in NSW.

http://www.fauna.org.au/faunasearch.htm , if in another state.

    Hope that helps.

  2. Call wires and see if they can help.  We ran over one after it jumped out in front of us.  It injured its' hip and wires took it away and took care of it.  If they can fix it they will.

  3. He should stay in bed with restricted movement and zero fed.

  4. Contact your local Wildlife rehab. They'll know what to do and if he needs to be put down

  5. take him to the vet or animal rescue, animal rescue is preferable. the first question is right. because you got involved its up to you to make sure its healed. animal rescue should take it and probably wont charge you anything. and yes their bones can be healed just like any other animal.
