What's the difference between 雄 and 男?

First one is used for animals.

Second is also male, but for human. A man.

The difference between 雄 and 男 is that 雄 means male FOR ANIMALS and 男 means male for humans.

You wouldn't use 雄 when referring to a human, and you wouldn't use 男 when referring to a male.

They have multiple readings

Here is one for each:

雄 - OSU

男 - OTOKO
