Kansas City Chiefs keep on rolling with win over Jacksonville Jaguars

If the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t take the Kansas City Chiefs seriously, they do now. The Chiefs embarrassed the Jaguars 42-20 on Sunday to move in first place in the AFC West with a 4-2 record. This
is the most points that the Chiefs have scored at home since 2004 and should serve as a notice for the rest of the league that 2010 Chiefs are the real deal, after last year's campaign ended with a dismal 4-12 record.

Chiefs’ Derrick Johnson swung momentum in his team’s favour by returning an interception 15 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. "That's what the defence is supposed to do, make big plays," Johnson
said.
The score seemed to have rattle Jacksonville’s quarterback Todd Bouman, starting in place of the injured David Garrard and Trent Edwards. Late in the fourth quarter, Bouman threw his second interception
of the game which led to another score and the Jags simply ran out of time. "That was the turning point in the whole game," Chiefs safety Jon McGraw said. "That was the momentum-shifter."
Despite the two costly mistakes thrown by Bouman, who was 18 of 34 for 222 yards, he did get his first touchdown since 2005 after connecting with Mike Sims-Walker on an 11-yard scoring pass to cut the
Chiefs’ lead to 21-20 with three quarters in the books.
The Chiefs and their potent rushing attack rushed for 236 yards. Thomas Jones was the only running-back in the game to go over 100 yards. With the ground game causing major concerns for the Jags’ defence,
quarterback Matt Cassel only threw three passes to his favorite receiver Dwayne Bowe. The good news is that two of those three receptions went for touchdowns as Kansas City extended their lead in the fourth quarter.
Despite being picked off twice, Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio was impressed by his third-string quarterback and hinted that Bouman should get another start if Garrard has not recovered from a concussion
sustained in week six against the Tennessee Titans.
"Todd played great," Del Rio said. "He played above what we hoped and needed from him today. We would like to have back the pick six there when it was a tight ball game. That marred what was shaping up
to be a great day for him."
Bouman did not get much help from the running game, as Maurice Jones-Drew continues to struggle and only rushed for 47 yards on 16 carries. The 3-4 Jags are currently in last place in the AFC South.
