Kansas City Royals’ GM Dayton Moore shows optimism on new labour agreement – MLB News
As the new Major League Baseball agreement is released to the masses, a bigger objective to understand it well, as many experts and top executives are giving their professional opinions in the media.
Recently, the Kansas City Royals’ general manager Dayton Moore was speaking in the media where he was asked by several reporters that what his point of view is over the new labour agreement which has already been discussed last week in the GMs annual meeting
in Milwaukee.
Moore not only replied confidently but he also showed his great optimism for this labour agreement development and said, “We really believe that whatever the rules are, we have to adapt to them and be successful within the confines of the structure, that’s
our mind-set. I think there is still a lot of flexibility in this new agreement for you to be creative.”
The one particular factor that is pinching all the lower spending franchises and their managements is the new limit on spending for draft picks and new international acquisitions.
The trend of acquiring new players from many international baseball playing nations that has been established for almost two decades is now going to end with the new implementation of the labour agreement.
Before the definitive proposal to end this culture to sign players from the international market with a very low price, many MLB franchises did abject and showed resistance but after the meeting in Milwaukee, all the executives agreed and stated that this
proposal should be in place before the next season.
Initially, franchises like Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals thought that they were in deep trouble but when their management did look into all the prospective, they agreed and started to accept the new potential change in the labour agreement.
GM Dayton Moore is a highly experienced executive in the Major League and knows better what will bring more opportunities for a certain team while currently managing the Kansas City Royals. He too is very excited to see how the Royals will adapt to this
new labour agreement.
