Kansas City Royals annihilated by Cleveland Indians 4-15 – MLB Update

Kansas City Royals were annihilated by the Cleveland Indians 4-15 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday, September 23 in the finale of their three match series.
Royals’ starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi had one of the worst nights of his career as he allowed six hits and three runs in just over five innings to give Indians complete control of the situation. Relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress was also hit hard, giving up
six runs in just 1.2 inning that ballooned his ERA to 5.25.
Asdrubal Cabrera and Carlos Santana were absolutely brilliant for Cleveland as they scored runs at regular intervals. For the Royals, catcher Adam Moore homered to left in the third inning to put his side on the board. Taylor Abreu, Billy Butler and Jeff
Francoeur also made valuable contributions with the bat but their effort was never going to be enough.
"Carlos had a great day," Manny Acta said. "That two-run homer was huge. It gave us the lead. I'm happy for the day he had. For a moment there, I was thinking we weren't going to have one guy with 75 RBIs on the whole team. He did it, and it looks like (Jason)
Kipnis with 70 might able to do that, too."
"I thought he did an outstanding job for his first start," Ned Yost said. "He's got all the intangibles. He fields his position. He commands the baseball. He changes speeds. He's got great composure and a great competitive nature."
It was huge win for the Indians who lost to the Royals in first two games of the series. With their win, the Indians also managed to avoid an embarrassing series sweep against their American League Central Division rivals.
Indians’ offensive outburst gave the Royals a run for their money. Royals, who dominated their opponents in first two games, were looking to wrap up a rare series sweep against the Indians but that did not turn out to be the case. Indians’ batting line-up
was just too hot to handle on Sunday evening as they stacked up a huge total on the board.
