Kansas City Royals’ bullpen ready to roar in 2012 – MLB News
The Kansas City Royals’ bullpen is ready to make a good impression next season as they have already started an excessive amount of rotation changes as well as several acquisitions that will likely happen in the next few weeks probably right after Major League
Winter Meeting.
The Royals' general manager Dayton Moore has recently said and explained all the minor details about the preparations and how the Royals' roster will be entering into the new MLB season with some new and experienced players.
Moore said, “There’s a lot of work that gets done here, It’s just might not be something that gets finished. A lot of groundwork can be laid that can put you in position to make a deal before spring training or even into spring training. And any player we
acquire has to be better than what we have, two, and three or four years ago, that was a little simpler.”
The Royals’ manager Ned Yost is also very optimistic about the future and described in the media that the top management is doing everything in order to upgrade the roster despite poor results in the 2011 MLB season. The Royals could not put up a good fighting
spirit in the last season and lost too many games in the regular season. He also told the media that the upcoming Winter Meeting will help the Royals sign new players and if Kansas City waited too long to sign a reliever, they might end up losing potential
free agents.
The Royals at the moment know that they need a reliever in Tim Collins position. Collins current contract expired with the team as he became a free agent and now does not want to re-sign with the Royals again despite being offered a new contract.
Though, the Royals' management know that time is running out for them as every good free agent is already on the hit lists of every top MLB franchise, but still they are keeping their fingers crossed and hoping for the best. It will be exciting to see how
the Royals build up their bullpen and improve their pitching performance for the 2012 season.
