Kansas City Royals crushed by Cleveland Indians 3-4 – MLB Update

Kansas City Royals had another horrible outing as they lost to Cleveland Indians 3-4 at the Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, April 24 in their regular season encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
Cleveland’s closer Chris Perez got his seventh save of the season, not allowing the Royals to score the go ahead run in the ninth. Derek Lowe also displayed some high quality pitching skills, giving up just one run in six solid innings.
"One hit away, that seems to be the name of the game right now," Royals’ Mike Moustakas said.
"It looks bad, 12 in a row, but we're playing good baseball, playing the game the right way. We just need to find a way to get that one hit that breaks it for us."
"It was obviously a tough week," Lowe said. "Anytime you have something like that happen and not being there, it's tough. That's what law enforcement is there for. Major League Baseball knows about it. The good thing is there's nothing you can't replace.
Luckily, no family members were there."
The Royals made an absolutely frustrating start to the contest and the Indians took complete advantage of the situation to take 1-0 lead in the first inning. Cleveland made the most of available opportunities in the fifth to take a handsome 4-1 lead and
although the Royals fought back superbly in the eighth and the ninth, they were unable to avoid their 12th consecutive loss this season.
Kansas City’s manager Ned Yost still believes that his team has a lot to offer. The skipper is convinced that his team does not deserve to be on a 12-game losing streak, which is the third longest in club’s history. The upcoming two games will be a test
of Royals’ bounce back ability. If they can somehow turn the tables on the Indians, they can gain much needed confidence.
The Indians, on the other hand, improved their win-loss record to 9-6 with their win over the Royals on Tuesday evening and they will be eager to continue their impressive form throughout the series.
