Kansas City Royals might sign starting pitcher Dan Haren – MLB Update
According to some inside Major League Baseball sources, the Kansas City Royals could sign nine-year and current Los Angeles Angels' ace starting pitcher Dan Haren for next potential seasons.
Dayton Moore, the Royals' general manager is trying his best to engage talks with the Angels’ organisation.
Though no reliable source has confirmed yet that the Royals and the Angels are trying to see a potential trade but still many think that it is quite possible and a lot of people will be surprised to see any further development.
Haren had a great 2012 MLB season as he achieved 4.33 ERA along with 12-13 win-loss, 142 strike-outs and 1.29 WHIP.
Not only this season, but Haren has been playing with great energy for nine years as his career 3.66 ERA along with 119-97 win-loss, 1585 strike-outs and 1.18 WHIP also makes him a good role player in the league.
Experts were thinking that Haren is a good player and the way he performed all season long, he will be a key factor for the Angels in the post-season but it never happened as Angels could not qualify for the 2012 playoffs.
During the regular season, Haren had also commented in the media about his expectations for the Angels and how he wanted to contribute for his team’s success.
"I think my track record is good. I've been dealing with some things this year, I pitched better at the end, and we'll see how it goes. If I don't come back, I'll go somewhere else and help that team out," Haren said.
He added, "Whatever source familiar with the Angels' thinking said it, I think it was probably dumb timing for them to say something, We have 10 days left, two weeks left. I think the last thing myself or Ervin are thinking about is our status for next year.”
Now it will be interesting to see how things move ahead for Royals, Dan Haren and Los Angeles Angels. The post-season is in its concluding turns while as soon as the World Series ends, a clearer picture will become public regarding Dan Haren and his next potential franchise.
