Kansas City Royals outclass Los Angeles Angels 6-4 – MLB Spring Training
Kansas City Royals improved their spring record to 10-7 with a win deserving win 6-4 over Los Angeles Angels at the Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona on March 20 in their Cactus League clash of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Session.
The Royals came up with a brilliant performance on Tuesday as they floored the mighty Angels with a hard fought 6-4 win. After making a slow start to their spring campaign, the Royals are finally putting the pieces of the puzzle together. With their win
over the Angels, they have now improved their win-loss record 10-7.
At the end of the game, Royals’ Manager Ned Yost looked extremely pleased with what he saw from the players. Yost also had a smile on his face. It will be interesting to see if the Royals can continue their excellent form throughout the season to reach World
Series Finals.
The Angels, on the other hand, will be looking to come back stronger in their next spring game. Despite putting up a brave fight, they were outclassed in finer details of the game.
C.J. Wilson, who was acquired by the Royals on a $77.5 million contract last December, continued to impress the skipper as he struck out five and walked none in just in five scoreless innings. The starter is 2-0 with an incredible .64 ERA and one run in
fourteen innings so far this spring.
"You can look at trends, but obviously it's a small sample side," Wilson said. "I've thrown 14 innings. It's not like 100 innings to say this is exactly what's going on. Each time I go out there I have a goal and I'm accomplishing those goals every time."
"It's an indicator," Wilson said. ". So these are guys that are familiar with me and guys I'm familiar with too. Brayan Pena smoked that ball up the middle, so that's something I've got to go to the drawing board and make sure I don't get beat the same way
by him."
Wilson will be hoping to produce similar performances during regular season to help the Royals reach World Series.
