Kansas City Royals show interest in Jon Lester – MLB Update
Kansas City Royals' general manager Dayton Moore has recently spoken about the team needs in order to improve their starting rotation for next season.
He was certain on the very fact of team’s needs regarding some pitching prowess. Last season, for bad pitching, the Royals were ousted early from the competition and failed to impress their fans.
Not only were the Royals’ fans disappointed on their team’s consistent poor plays, but the management also did not like this sloppy attitude especially by their star pitchers.
Now since the offseason has started, the Royals' top management talked openly and wished to land some of the talented pitchers in the roster in order to stay on top of their game next season.
Meanwhile, speculations are mounting in the media that Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Jon Lester could play for the Royals next season.
The Red Sox management has recently mentioned in the media that they will be hearing offers for Jon Lester’s possible trade.
"I just want to be a baseball player, I was beaten down all that first winter just dealing with cancer, The last thing I wanted to do was come to Spring Training and be asked about it. I just wanted to get away from it," Lester said in the past.
Lester added, “Being immature at the time and not understanding how people viewed me, it took me a few years of settling down, getting married and hearing stories from people, You know, when people have been through the same thing you've been through, you really don't have to say much.”
Royals’ however, are also looking positive to talk to the Boston management for Lester but still both sides have not publically mentioned any development.
Recently some experts have explained in the media that Lester’s playing chances in the Royals might be linked with the Red Sox’s desire to trade him or else it will be very difficult for Kansas to land him into their roster.
Lester, a highly talented individual, has last played for the Red Sox in 2012 Major League Baseball and finished with 4.82 ERA along with 9-14, 166 strike-outs and 1.38 WHIP.
