Kansas City Royals sign outfielder Endy Chavez to a Minor League deal – MLB Update
The Kansas City Royals have signed outfielder Endy Chavez to a Minor League deal and improved their backup for the upcoming Major League Baseball season.
Chavez last played for the Baltimore Orioles showed consistent results with a persistent hitting average of .203 along with two homers, 12 RBIs and .236 OBP. Overall he holds a good career track as well.
His career stats are consistent at .269 hitting average along with 26 home runs, 229 RBIs and .309 OBP. Along with Chavez, the Royals have also signed Miguel Tejada to a Minor League contract.
"I'm very pleased with this, The contract with the Royals is a done deal. I'm going to try to help this team and their younger players. I'm so happy because this is what I was aiming for, a chance to get back to the Majors," said the 38-year-old Tejada,
who boasts 304 lifetime homers and a career batting average of .285 to go along with his 2002 MVP Award.
Miguel Tejada last played for the San Francisco Giants and showed good commitment with the bat. He achieved consistent numbers and proved his valour. His career hitting average of .285 along with 304 home runs, 1282 RBIs and .336 OBP also makes him a good
role player in the roster.
Along with these new signings, the Kansas City Royals have also a good roster that will be providing them good offence next season.  Tony Abreu, Alcides Escobar and Irving Falu are currently the main force behind the Royals.
Third baseman Tony Abreu played wonderfully in the last Major League outing and achieved consistent results of .257 hitting average along with one homer, 15 RBIs and .284 OBP. His career hitting average of .252 along with four home runs, 46 RBIs and .280
OBP also makes him a good player in the league.
Shortstop Alcides Escobar also is a reliable player for the Royals as he achieved consistent numbers in the last season. He remained persistent on hitting average .293 along with 14 home runs, 52 RBIs and .331 OBP. His career hitting average of .266 also
makes him role player within the Royals.
