Kansas City Royals stun Texas Rangers 7-4 – MLB Update
Kansas City Royals stunned Texas Rangers 7-4 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, May 15 in the second game of their two match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season. The Royals inflicted another heavy blow to their opponents as they displayed some high quality baseball skills throughout the contest.
The win will be of great importance for the Royals who have been struggling find any consistency in their game play since the start of the season. Without a shadow of a doubt, the Royals have the firepower and ability to floor even the best teams in American League.
The way they conducted themselves against the American League West leaders shows what they are capable of. It will be interesting to see if Ned Yost and company can continue their good run to get over the .500 win percentage mark for the first time this season. The All Star break can also provide the Royals with some time to reconsider their game plan and it should not be surprise to anyone if they make it to the playoffs.
"It's a tough situation," Royals’ relief pitcher Mazzaro said. "But any situation you get thrown in you have to give it your best. You never know when you'll get another one. I just went out there and stayed focused on every pitch."
"To come in here and win two games is big for us," said Royals manager Ned Yost. "Our pitching has been pretty good. That shows you how good."
"The only thing we can look back at is that Colby should have made that play," said Texas manager Ron Washington. "If he makes that play, it's a zero on the scoreboard.”
Texas, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back strongly in their upcoming games but for once they were unable to live up to the expectations. Brayan Pena and Billy Butler put up a brilliant show in hitting department of the game as they provided the Royals with a perfect start. Eric Hosmer also drove in crucial runs to put his team in a commanding position.
