Kansas City Royals suffer 3-7 loss against Milwaukee Brewers– MLB Spring Training
Kansas City Royals suffered a 3-7 loss against Milwaukee brewers at the Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona on Sunday, March 25 in their Cactus League encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training Session.,
Scooter Gennett, who has performed consistently at the minor league level, hit a two run home run in the eighth innings to help the Brewers take the lead. The striker will be hoping to make the most of available opportunities this season to win a place on Brewers’ big league roster.
"Because every time I try to hit a home run I end up rolling over or striking out," Gennett said. "So I was just trying to put a good at-bat together and try to hit the ball hard."
Royals’ starter Felipe Paulino looked a bit out of sorts as he allowed five runs on six hits and three walks in just over two innings. Manager Ned Yost was a bit disappointed with what he saw from the starter.
"They made me throw a lot of pitches early in the game, that's why it was a short game for me," Paulino said. "I throw my pitches where they were supposed to be, right in the zone. All my pitches were sharp. But I just missed my spot. It's spring training. Sometime we're inconsistent, but the next one I try to get better.”
Not showing any signs of nerves, the Brewers played an aggressive brand of baseball to put their rivals under immense pressure. Milwaukee’s win over the Royals have now improved their spring win-loss record to 8-12.
Throughout this spring, the Brewers have shown vulnerability in various departments of the game. It will be interesting to see if the Brewers can eliminate problems in their game plan before the start of 2012 regular season,
The Royals, on the other hand, had plenty of scoring opportunities but they failed to convert them and eventually paid the price. The Royals have given some great performances since the start of 2012 Spring Training and they will be hoping to work out their best pitching and hitting attack before the Opening Day.
