Question:

Kaolin slurry for my plants?

I have been given a bag of Light Kaolin BP and I need to know if I can use this to make a slurry to protect my plants from the bugs. I am told it contains small traces of Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, will this harm my plants? As the Kaolin is pharmacuetical grade it probably will not hurt me if I eat the fruit from my trees treated with it. TSPP is a food additive #450 Australia. Thanks

  1. No, tetrasodium pyrophosphate will not affect your plants as it is a food additive.  The reason why it is in the Kaolin is because it is an anti-caking agent that is often used in powders to keep them powdery.
